Mental Health First Aid
Through this nationally accredited training, you will learn how to recognize the common signs and symptoms of prominent mental illnesses; how to understand the impact of traumatic experiences and the role of resilience in our mental health development; how to connect people to helpful resources; to have an action plan for treating non-crisis and crisis mental health emergencies until professional help can arrive; and, appropriate methods for self-care.

How much does it cost to participate?
The training costs $40 per person which covers all manuals and materials needed to complete the course. Location, A/V setup, meals, and other details will need to be planned on a training-by-training basis.
How can I take this course?
There are two course plans available:
- Mental Health First Aid for Youth is for those interested in learning how to help young people experiencing mental health challenges or crises. It reviews the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents ages 10-18.
- Mental Health First Aid for Adults tis for those interested in learning how to help those older than 18 who may be experiencing a mental health related crisis.
Training sessions can be hosted in one of three formats:
- In-person: 8 hours for Adult; 7.5 hours for Youth (30 participants max)
- Blended: 2 hours self-paced, online learning and 6.5 hours in-person course (30 participants max)
- Virtual: 2 hours self-paced, online learning and 6.5 hours live virtual training (20 participants max)
