Our Faithful Promises.
We promise to help children overcome worries brought by new situations.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5
Caleb is an 8-year-old boy who was referred to LFCS because he struggled with ADHD. Caleb often refused to talk and covered his head with his hands when he became overwhelmed.
Caleb began working with our therapy team on March 25. At that point, we spoke with him via phone. Caleb’s family was skeptical about what could be accomplished virtually because he struggled with changes to his routine. However, within a few weeks, we began to establish a rapport and he became more comfortable with the virtual visits. Our conversations evolved into activities that required Caleb to follow more directions. He was able to increase his attention with each session, and now he is better able to cope when he feels anxiety or discomfort.
While he still sometimes has difficult days, Caleb’s ability to adapt has been incredible, and we are confident that he will continue to improve his coping skills when faced with new situations.
