What We Do

Our Mission

Through Christ’s love, we empower children and families to overcome challenges today so they can build a better tomorrow.

Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri (LFCS) is a not-for-profit social services organization serving the State of Missouri. The organization has been in existence since 1868, when it was founded as a residence for children left homeless after the Civil War. LFCS has made progressive program changes over its 150-year history in order to meet the shifting needs of children and families in Missouri.

Our Vision

Generations of children and families are safer and stronger together.

Our Sevices:

Over the past 30 years, LFCS has extended its physical presence from the St. Louis area across the state, expanding services into Cape Girardeau, Columbia, Springfield, Franklin County, Kansas City, and Joplin. Time and time again, LFCS has taken on new challenges and expanded its capacity to meet the needs of the children and families in our community.
