Welcome our New President & CEO
On behalf of the Agency Board, Foundation Board and Search Committee, we are pleased to announce that Charles “Mike” Duggar has been named President and CEO of Lutheran Family and Children’s Services of Missouri. With twenty-four years of progressive social service experience, Mike will bring a fresh perspective and uplifting energy to our organization.
Through an intense six-month nationwide search, the Search Committee was fortunate to have been presented with a rich pool of applicants. We are confident Mike’s experience, knowledge and integrity will complement the work, staff, and friends of LFCS. His anticipated start date is March 27, 2017.
Mike will be joining us from Jackson, MS where he served as President and CEO for Methodist Children’s Homes of Mississippi. During his tenure, he lead the organization to become certified as an X01/X04 community mental health provider, secured over $6 million in grants for the organization, and was appointed to the Supreme Court Juvenile Justice Commission. He was also a member of Jackson State University’s adjunct faculty as an instructor for Leadership & Management as well as Community & Organizational Change in the Jackson State School of Social Work. Mike holds a degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Masters of Community Psychology from Pennsylvania State University.
“With his vision, commitment to organizational improvement, and dedication to service, Mike will be a valuable voice for this organization,” said Laura Hollingsworth, Chair of the Search Committee. “Through his leadership, we are confident that LFCS will continue to advance in our mission to help families, children and individuals experience greater hope and wholeness of life.”
Mike is honored to have been selected and is eager to get started at LFCS, learning about our various programs and meeting the people who make our work so meaningful.
