School-Based Counseling Services

Children in Missouri are facing unprecedented levels of anxiety and depression. LFCS is here to help. Our therapists provide on-site support at over 60 public and private schools throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. By embedding our counselors in St. Louis area schools, we can provide students with immediate access to much-needed mental health services within that familiar environment. Counselors at LFCS listen to concerns, while using their professional skills and experience to understand the unique needs of each client. Presently our school based counseling is only available in the eastern region of Missouri.

Each of our counselors is committed to:

  • Honoring clients’ individual values
  • Working to establish personalized goals
  • Focusing on maximizing strengths
  • Supporting efforts to accomplish desired change
  • Helping to address relationship issues that impact well-being
  • Honoring confidentiality

All school-based counseling services are grant-funded and provided at NO COST to the students we serve.

Prevention Services

LFCS offers Behavioral Health Prevention services across the St. Louis Metro area and Franklin County.

Step-Up

The Step-Up program serves students in grades 3-8 attending schools in St. Louis City and County, and Franklin County. Through a group setting utilizing evidence based curriculum, this service helps kids with important life skills and addresses issues such as bullying, substance abuse, violence, and other risky behaviors. Counseling follow up services are offered to students identified by school staff or parents who may be in need of additional support, to create positive, healthy changes in students’ attitudes and behaviors.
