Disaster Response Award

What's Right With The Region Group Pic

On Thursday May 12, 2016, LFCS was honored at the What’s Right with the Region awards, along with seven other agencies who collaborated together to respond to the December 2015 flooding.  American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, the United Way, Americorps, the Salvation Army, Society of St. Vincent De Paul, and Adventist Community Services Disaster Response where all honored together.  These agencies worked together to provide shelter, food, counseling, and other services through the seven Multi-Agency Resource Centers (MARCs) that were delivered over three counties in the St. Louis area.  In addition to providing resources to the community, information was also gathered to help assess the needs of the community so that additional resources and funding could be sought by both the federal and state emergency management agencies.  LFCS is proud to be a part of the great collaborative work being done with these and many other agencies.  Congratulations to all who were honored at the awards ceremony.
