LFCS continues to support the OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program in Lutheran grade schools in St. Louis and southern Missouri.
This program trains caring adult volunteers to work one-on-one with students, who have underdeveloped reading skills, about one hour a week during the school day. Tutoring typically runs from October until the end of school in May. Principals and teachers praise the efforts of our tutors, who become mentors and friends with their students.
Share your knowledge and experience to enrich the life of a child by becoming an OASIS tutor. Training classes provide tutors with techniques and strategies that support the reading programs used in our schools, today.
Next training: January 7-8, 2016
