Tax Credits

General view
Each year, Lutheran Family and Children's Services of Missouri serves thousands of Missouri families with a variety of programs that offer hope and healing.  We rely on anumber of funding sources--including philanthropic groups and indviduals--to support our efforts.  Recently, one of our partners, the Missouri Department of Economic Development, has had to scale back its distribution of tax credits, leaving two crucial LFCS programs, and the clients they serve, without adequate resources.

The expected loss of charitable support is $500,000.  We need your help to maintain programming to the 260 children and their families that these contributions represent.

Hilltop emphasis
Each day, approximately 90 - 100 pre-schoolers arrive at LFCS' Hilltop Child Development Center, ready to see their friends, to learn, and to play.  Parents go to work and to school, knowing that their children will learn something new and will be well cared for.  Last year, charitable tax credit contributions accounted for over 20% or $175,000 of the Center's annual budget, but those credits are not avialable this year.  We need your help so that each and every one of those pre-schoolers can continue to come to Hilltop to see their friends, to learn and to play.

WINGS emphasis
Each year, the LFCS WINGS Program serves more than 600 expectant women and families across Missouri who are facing crisis in their lives.  They come to us lacking a sense of hope, afraid of what the future holds.  Last year charitable tax credit contributions accounted for 33% or $325,00 of the WINGS Program Budget, but those credits are not available this year.  We need your support sor that LFCS can continue to meet the needs of these fragile families.
