School Counseling Program
Children often experience challenges in their families, among peers and in schools that make daily living difficult. LFCS School Counselors partner with students, families and other school personnel to help students reach their full potential. A wide variety of issues may impact the school performance and general well-being of a child. Some of these issues may include:
- Depression
- Bullying
- Anxiety
- Anger Management
- Classroom Behavior
- Divorce
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Physical or emotional abuse
LFCS School Counselors provide evidence-based counseling and therapeutic services to help alleviate these issues. Services may be provided in a variety of settings including individual and group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, staff and parent presentations, teacher consultations, and crisis intervention. Our Master's level Counselors serve their schools from 1-5 days per week based on the needs of the individual school and its students.
Thanks to the St. Louis County Children's Services Fund, these services are provided at no cost to students and families attending the following schools:
