Boas and Bling
The Southwest Office will host its 2nd annual “Boas and Bling? Mother’s Day brunch at the exclusive Highland Springs Country Club, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2009. This year’s event will highlight fancy hats worn by Springfield’s most sophisticated ladies including our guest speaker, Liz Delany of Alice 95.5. Liz will honor two special women, her mother and birth mother, as she shares the inspirational and heart warming story of her adoption. Purchase a feather boa or tiara for $25 and enter to win diamond earrings valued over $2,000. You can also bid on delicious cakes and beautiful flower arrangements in the silent auction. Perfect for mother’s day!Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children 12 and younger or $30/$20 at the door.

LFCS is offering FREE one-day trainings to health care professionals on infant adoption! Understanding Infant Adoption is a federally funded training program designed to educate health care workers on how to present adoption as a positive option to pregnant women, as well as how to support women who are making adoption plans. Trainings are held throughout the state of Missouri and offer free CEU’s to nurses and social workers.
