Finding My Birth Family

Because of our long-standing history as an adoption agency, we often are asked for assistance in finding birth families.  We are able to assist in searching for adoptions that occurred in Missouri.  In addition to our agency’s records, we maintain the records for Provident Counseling (aka Family and Children’s Services).  Information concerning any adoption finalized in Missouri is protected by state law.  The law that governs adoption changed on August 28, 2011 to no longer require the consent of the adoptive parents to search.  Requests must be in writing and persons must be 18 years of age or older.

We have compiled information and the following documents outlining a step by step process to assist those who are interested in searching for biological parent(s) and family members.
